Stars

Hold on to Your Promises

By Susan Deborah Schiller

You might think I'm free of smear campaigns, gaslighting, and all that evil manages to throw my way… not yet. God's still helping me to 1.) Grin in the face of disaster and 2.) Rule in the midst of my enemies

I'm not where I thought I would be, by now, but I'm not who I used to be. Somehow the storms have softened my heart and the continual faithfulness of God has helped me from not being as reckless with my heart as I once was.

I stand here today under the shimmering stars of God's promises …

still on the edge of darkness, enthralled by the glory of God…

knowing Dawn is just about the break.

I want to share a little glimpse of my life today.  I was at work when a co-worker suddenly steered me toward a back room. The song, "Stars," by Skillet filled the air and I stopped to listen. Tears welled up as God immediately brought me back to a vision He gave me in a dream many years ago. Suspended somewhere in space my Papa God beckoned me to be seated with Him in this circular room with a 360-degree view. He smiled and said to me, "Little One, let's count the stars."

You may wonder how I've survived all these years… you may wonder how you can possibly make it another day, another minute…

We hold on to our promises, dear one. We remember who God is and who we are, in the light of His Love. I hope you'll give this song a listen…. thanks for being here with me today!

Let's remember: Love wins. Truth always prevails.

All my love,

Susan

"Stars (The Shack Version)"

You spoke a word and life began
Told oceans where to start and where to end
You set in motion time and space
But still You come and You call to me by name
But still You come and You call to me by name

If you can hold the stars in place
You can hold my heart the same
Whenever I fall away
Whenever I start to break
So here I am, lifting up my heart
To the One who holds the stars

The deepest depths, the darkest nights
Can't separate, can't keep me from your sight
I get so lost, forget my way
But still You love and You don't forget my name

If You can hold the stars in place
You can hold my heart the same
Whenever I fall away
Whenever I start to break
So here I am, lifting up my heart
If You can calm the raging sea
You can calm the storm in me
You're never too far away
You never show up too late
So here I am, lifting up my heart
To the One who holds the stars

Your love has called my name
What do I have to fear?
What do I have to fear?
Your love has called my name
What do I have to fear?
What do I have to fear?

If You can hold the stars in place
You can hold my heart the same
Whenever I fall away
Whenever I start to break
So here I am, lifting up my heart
(Lifting up my heart)
If You can calm the raging sea
You can calm the storm in me
You're never too far away
You never show up too late
So here I am, lifting up my heart
To the One who holds the stars

You're the One who holds the stars

The full vision:

I heard His invitation to count the stars with Him, and suddenly I was in a different realm.

It was a circular room, high up in the heavens, with windows that gave us a 360-degree view. My Father invited me to stand with Him at a control panel-type-of-thing, in the midst of this ocean of fiery, brilliant stars. It was almost like a ship that He navigated through the constellations, but it's really hard to describe. It seemed so very real, and my mind could only take a few seconds before I was back "home" in my room, praying… with a new sense of wonder.

He counts the stars
and calls them all by name. – Psalm 147:4

While the morning stars sang in chorus
and all the angels shouted praise? – Job 38:7
