Splashes of Divinity

I want to be like Mother Teresa who looked for Christ in every human being. I want to be like my Lakota friends who see a splash of Divinity in every part of nature: plant, animal, and rock. I want to walk in the Truth that all of life is sacred and that we are One in our Creator.
There's a sunflower garden just outside my window and as I gazed into the sunny face of the first flower to blossom, this past summer, I discovered the bees were already deep inside the flowering buds. Soon black-striped seeds will sprout, rich in oleic acids, lecithin, carotenoids, and other rich nutrients.
I want to be like a sunflower, raising my head to the Light, my back to the blowing winds and darkness. I want to be a place where people come to be nourished. I want to produce more than I need, as all of nature is created to be and do.
I choose to embrace my own ordinary life and rejoice that God's life is flowing through my veins. Even when my ordinary life seems so broken and damaged, I lay it down as a simple offering. I believe He can take it and multiply it and transform it into something beautiful.

I live in the Sunflower State, and sunflowers have always spoken to me. I love how they follow the sun throughout the day. It was wonderful to see them through your eyes (and camera) this time.

Wow this post is so inspirational, and I love all the pictures. It is good to take time and sit back to admire all of gods great creations and to remember that he is always in control.
Yes, you're right, Renee… that's exactly how it feels out there in nature… that God is truly in control, not all the government leaders and world systems 🙂

Sunflowers are incredible, almost sentient, aren't they? Such fun to photograph and just be with…. again, your writing & spirit draw me in, as well as your deep love for God. Brava! So glad you are a part of art everyday month!
Your beautiful words, Julie, are a great encouragement. Yes, sunflowers do seem sentient, now that I consider it. I believe they do have something to tell us, as all of creation does, when we take time to slow down and really watch and listen!
