Serving up Smiles: The 40th Wedding Anniversary Gift

One of my husband's favorite jokes is about the older couple, in their sixties, walking along the beach. It's their 40th wedding anniversary and a bottle has washed up on shore. I hope I can remember all the lines!

"Look, Alfred, an old bottle!" exclaimed Jenny, dashing into the waves to scoop up the treasure.

"It's just a dirty old bottle, leave it – we've got better things to do," said Alfred, looking at his watch. He was hoping to catch the end of his favorite football game, back at the hotel.

Jenny smiled, beaming like the little girl she still was in her heart, and popped the cork off the bottle. Swish! Bang! A genie popped out, landing with a plop in the sand right in front of the amazed couple!

"Your wish, Madame?"

Jenny, grinning from ear-to-ear, replied: "All my life I've worked hard waitressing at the local cafe. I've had this dream of traveling all around the world, cruising across the ocean, and seeing the Seven Wonders of the World."

The genie scratched his chin, then pulled out a travel package from his billowing vest. Proudly handing the envelope to Jenny, he said to her: "Madame, you have tickets to cruise on the Queen Elizabeth around the world, visiting all Seven Wonders. You have first-class reservations with all meals, transporation, tips, and boarding passes included."

Jenny clasped the envelope to her heart, dancing in circles for joy.

Turning to Alfred, who was skeptical, to say the least, the genie asked him, "What wish can I grant you, sir?"

Alfred shut his eyes for a moment and shot back his reply, "I'd like to travel the world, too, with a woman 30-years younger than I!"

The genie raised an eyebrow and then smiled, "Your wish is my command!"

Swish! Bang!

Immediately Alfred turned into a 90-year old man!
