Day 19: Writing Tomorrow’s Headlines

Better than Watching the News is Writing Tomorrow's Headlines

By: Susan Deborah Schiller

In the series, "Write to Freedom – Your Mini Memoir"

Take a minute and imagine you are on a satellite high above the earth and from this lofty vantage point, you can see and hear all the stories being told on our planet today.

The earth is presently inhabited by almost 7 billion fathers, mothers, and children. Each one has a special, totally unique part to play in our generation. It's their story and they are living it every day, turning the pages decision-by-decision.

What if YOU were the one to decide which stories will be happening in your life and in your country?

We each decide on any particular day if we are going to write our own story or float passively along with the masses who are turned every which way by circumstances they feel are beyond their control.

Most people haven't been taught how to change their stories, to rewrite their future. They are floating in the mainstream current of programmed mind control.

Sadly, most of us have lost our identity, as individuals and as communities. The good news is, we get to set (or reset) the trajectory of our lives! We each decide which news happening around us is worthy to focus on, what we will listen to and believe. What you focus on multiplies and increases.

That's what happened at a major department store last month, in the video at the top of this page.

It was Fall 2010 and on October 30th, at Macy's in Philadelphia, hundreds of people popped out their digital cameras and recorded an amazing cultural event. What strikes you the most about this video? Was it the sense of "wonder" and "awe"? Did you notice the contagious joy? Did you notice all the smiles?

We all need moments of awe and wonder. Even if you are watching via online video, did you catch yourself smiling? Did you heart warm? Did you pull out a tissue, like I did? Something inside changed, didn't it?

What we see and believe changes us biologically and chemically. Do we really want to focus on all the violence, crime, and destruction?

Biologically and chemically, whether you are present at an event like this or watching it happen via video or hearing it through story, your body changes! Oxytocin (the BEST anti-aging natural substance in the universe) is released into your system. You feel better mentally, emotionally, and physically.

Conversely, when we watch the news or listen to negative people, our cortisol level is raised… the stress substance. It actually causes us to gain weight! Yikes!

Why trust the News stations or government-sponsored history texts to paint the picture of your world in this particular year in history? We don't ignore reality or bury our heads in the proverbial sand.

We simply choose to look beyond, to listen to the conversation from Heaven, and then we write what Heaven is saying and we create a better world.

It's what we choose to believe in and to speak into existence that shapes our lives and affects everyone around us. We are naturally contagious!

I want to be a person who rewrites future history by changing what I place my focus on. We shape the next generation by the stories we tell and what we choose to focus on.

Day 19's Activation is to "Look Beyond" what is happening in your part of the world today. Remember, we're not denying the chaos exists. We're choosing to recognize our own part in creating the chaos. And then we're going to switch gears and rewrite the future. We're going to write ourselves into a better world.

Since I began writing like this, I've been able to rid myself of $320K in debt. I'm now free of domestic violence and spiritual abuse. I'm living life on my own terms, charting my path into the future.

I still have a long way to go, because my dreams are huge! But I have hope – not just for me, but for so many other people and for the world!

This is living the adventure, God's way. He never wanted any of us to have to suffer. We can change history, beginning in our own lives.

The activation for Day 19 is to begin to dream. Let your pen write yourself into a world you would like to live in. Be as detailed as you wish. Write from your heart and not your head. You might even find yourself thinking in pictures that are odd to you, or writing in language that sounds funny. Well, maybe you won't, but I did.

I have a dream… and this is how I choose to see the world. Don't laugh, okay? My dreams have a habit of coming true 🙂

With all my love,

Sue

Love this – thanks so much, Susan. We so easily forget how interesting our life stories truly are. So often we think ‘I have nothing interesting to write about, nothing that anyone would want to read’. I think of all the stories from my great grandparents, about their lives and trials, and wonder if our children will find our stories as fascinating. I surely hope so!

What an awesome article. It’s your life, write about it, take pictures and scrap book it. Anyway you document it, is awesome. But, if you want to change things for the better and flip the switch on the next generation, this article is definitely a keeper.

Thanks for sharing such insightful pearls of wisdom with all of us. Definitely worth every minute of reading.
