A New World in the Making

A New World in the Making

By: Susan Deborah Schiller

When Jesus landed on this planet he initiated a chain reaction of events that disarmed all evil, even to this very day, in the 21st century on Planet Earth.

Jesus calmed storms, walked on water, and raised dead people to life. Death by torture didn’t defeat him, storms couldn’t stop him. He promised us we could do the very same things, even greater things!

Only our lack of faith prevented the miraculous.

Sometimes I grow weak and I forget that all of this has already been done. A new world has already begun, and it’s still in the making as you and I rise up to take our place in co-creating, in rewriting the future of our lives.

The powerful announcement of the Gospel is that God is God, Jesus Christ is Lord, that the powers of evil have been defeated, that God’s new world has begun. This announcement, stated as a fact about the way the world is rather than as an appeal about the way you might like your life, your emotions, or your bank balance to be, is the foundation of everything else.” — N.T. Wright from “Surprised by Hope”

So I spur myself on to more love, more life, and greater faith. I choose the greater things Jesus spoke of, the bigger screen of life. Abundant life.

This is the great adventure.

I speak to my soul to RISE UP, to quit feeling disgusted by people who get away with their lies and deception. I say to my soul, “Grin in the face of disaster,” because the bridge from the old world to the new world is faith – the kind of faith that rises up when we hear each other’s stories.

You are the Gospel of ___ (insert your name) and I am the Gospel of Sue.

Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John simply shared their own versions of the same story – the Good News. What their OLD life was like, how Jesus came with Truth, showing them the Way to Life… and what their NEW life is like.

I like reading the four Gospels of the New Testament. Each one has it’s own personality and “flavor”.

Mark is go, go, go and do, do, do.

Matthew is all about the Jews and is full of sermons and Scriptures from their history.

Luke, the doctor, loves the miracles of healing.

John – one of Jesus’ most inner circle friends, has such a loving, fatherly tone.

I’m not all the way Home yet, but I know that my Gospel story is centered on Peace – the peace of Christ that passes all understanding, that guards my heart… and my heart is like an overflowing fountain that refreshes weary souls.

That’s my NEW story – it’s what I see happening all around me, everywhere I go – even strangers return to tell me, “Every time I walk passed you I feel this strange sense of peace. You’re like an oasis of peace!”

What is your “Gospel” about? How does your personality flavor your life story? What is your central theme?

What characters enter your story the most? What are the invisible threads that are woven throughout your life – those patterns, some dark and some light?

Do you know something? I really can’t wait to read YOUR story!

Together, we are creating a new world. The words we write become the script of our life. We are rewriting the future. It’s already begun, with the ascension of Jesus, and in Him, we live an ascended life!

With all my love,
