Love is On the Way

Love is On the Way

From my journal, November 17, 2002

"Relax, everything's going to be all right; rest, everything's coming together; open your hearts, love is on the way!" – Jude, the Message Bible

I opened up to this verse after crying out to God with groans and screams for mercy and justice – for Truth to expose the lies and the liars. The pain is nearly unbearable, so I'm asking Him to take it.

This world is not my home. I hate the evil that rules in this place. I long for Truth, for Beauty, and for Love, Joy, and Peace. My heart is quieted. I choose God's rest. I will wait for my Savior to move.

The silence and loneliness are the worst. I've always been lonely. God told me it would be this way. He foretold there would be betrayal and slander, even from close family and friends.

He told me I would see evil face-to-face, and that I wouldn't like it. Then, He asked me if I would still choose to follow Him, and I said yes.

I still say yes. I am lonely, misunderstood, and seemingly misunderstood. The price has been steep, but worth it. I will truth, thought I don't see the end of this violence.

I wish I could see more clearly, but it's foggy. I'm just glad my eyes are open now.

Oh God, increase my vision. Englarge my territory. Bless me. Deliver me from all evil. Please forgive me for looking for security in my husband's love and protection.

I wrote this shortly after leaving my home, my family, my ministry, and everything I had worked so hard for, for the previous 20 years. It was a nightmare – a time so black, so dark, so frightening – that I barely made it through. All that I loved, I left. But not because I wanted to.

I had been dialing 911 for help for many years… asking for spiritual guidance, counseling, answers. My life was threatened. I was terrorized by my husband inside my own bedroom. But no one believed me. As Kimberly writes in "A Right to Be Loved," there is an epidemic of spiritual terrorism in our churches today.

Abuse among Christians is common… and at the same time it's the biggest elephant in the room and few are talking about it. Worse, victims are silenced and abusers are protected by "grace".

This type of "grace" becomes evil's accomplice. The greatest evil lurks behind the masks of Christan pastors and leaders. Instead of speaking up and taking action to protect the victims, we silence the victims and cover up the crimes!

It's 13-years later, from when I first penned the journal entry above, and I'm no longer silent. I will no longer be an accomplice to the murder of women's souls. I will no longer partner with churches and ministries that cover up violence and silence the victims.

Love wins. Truth prevails.

Jude is right: Everything's going to be all right. God has a plan and Love is on the way. Just open your heart, even if it hurts. Sometimes you have to tell yourself this over and over. And when you forget, you need friends to tell you this truth. Keep your heart open.

Everything's going to be all right.

God has a plan and Love is on the way.

You need to hear it over and over again. Jude spoke to me on the worst day of my life – the day I had to leave my home. It would have been so different if God's people – the churches – had not silenced me. If they had believed me, if they had not given "grace" to someone without a contrite spirit… oh, how different it would have been!

I gave my all. I'd rather fail attempting to love than to withdraw from taking risks in a broken world.

Love is on the way. Everything's going to be okay. Just keep your heart open! The following video is a short testimony of how God caused Jude's words to be real in my life, despite the deep trials and heavy pain.
