I Will Never Leave You or Forsake You

Words to Live By

By: Susan Deborah Schiller

My life's course has been channeled by the force of words. Marsha Burns is one writer that I listen to daily via snippets she sends to her email list. It's so good to have a traveling companion on this journey to freedom and fullness. Some of my greatest mentors I've never met in person, and some of them have already crossed over out of this life, but their words still remain as sign posts!

Perhaps that is one reason I have been sharing my words here, at TeamFamilyOnline for the past 4 1/2 years. Over a million words. Not all of them are sign post quality words, but I'm grateful that some of them God uses to comfort, console, and care deeply for the lost and hurting souls who come here.

My path and your path have interesected here today, and perhaps over the course of many days. And yet, we each have a unique path. And that's the beauty of freedom, too. The threat of rejection and abandonment loses its sting when we take these words to heart:

I want you to see the uniqueness of your life and the path that you have chosen. The paths of others have crossed yours and even been parallel with yours for a certain distance before separation.  But, ultimately, you are responsible for your own desires, choices, and direction.  Refuse to allow regret to overwhelm you nor consider what might have been or could have been.  Do not look back.  Walk with Me into the days ahead with the assurance that I will never leave you nor forsake you, says the Lord. – Marsha Burns

Some friends are with us for a season, and others for a lifetime. Some walk closely with us for months and years and then we find ourselves drifting. It's not always a bad thing. They are still close in my heart, forever. I welcome new friends, and I know they may only be here for a season, too. And that's okay.

Some will come back after many years, and that is a great joy to me. I love how God has spun this network of friendships with threads both long and short, and how He gently weaves us back and forth, in and out, of each other's lives!
