An Uncommon Peace
By: Susan Deborah Schiller
When I write, I write in peace. I write from a peaceful place. Peace is a weapon.
God has told me, "Rule in the midst of your enemies," and "Grin in the face of disaster." And so I rise up. This is warrior's school, for me. And it begins with confronting those voices of resistance in my head.
All I can tell you is don't seek to fight the thoughts. Whatever you focus on is magnified!
I can't promise you safety. Neither can God. He had to watch His beloved Son die. But even if you lose everything, even your life, there is this Resurrection that is promised, that is for certain, and that is our security.
He is the Resurrection and the Life. This mighty power is working from within. Think of that, instead of the massive assault coming at you. It's okay to feel weak. We are just earthen vessels… but the real treasure – the pearl of great price – is hidden within us.
2 Corinthians 4:6-9 For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us. We are hard pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed-always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body.
Try saying this Scripture out loud and stamp your own name into it. This is your Way out. This is the Truth. There is more Life in one promise of God than in all the support systems of the world.
This is not a safe adventure we're on. You may be called upon to risk your life and even to lay down your life… but not because you are weak. Don't ever give up, just because it's hard or seems impossible. If you have to lay down your life, do it in obedience. Do it in love. Do it for someone else. But don't ever give up just because it's hard.
RUN to the battle! If you're too weak to run, walk. If you can't walk, crawl. This freedom fight is not a tame, theological, Bible study type of fight. It will take everything you've got and more. You will give more than you ever thought you had. You will suffer more than is thought humanly possible. You will prevail. You will overcome by the Blood of the Lamb and the Word of your testimony, which is Love and Truth walking hand-in-hand.
Don't be ashamed that you are perplexed, crushed, shaken, struck down, persecuted, abandoned, and betrayed.
Rejoice. Be glad. Why?
Because all the BEST people are living this way. Just short of death, ravaged by the fires of hell. You see, this world is not our home. We don't belong here. The earth, yes, is the Lord's and the fullness therein. The earth, yes… but even the earth is groaning. It's this world's system that doesn't play fair. And that system is what we must escape from. It's destiny is destruction and death.
The only way to be free of the world's system is to WAKE UP! Choose life. Choose love. Walk in the Truth. Tell your story. Be free.
This year, this month, today… I choose life. I choose love. I choose happiness. I choose restoration for my whole family. I grab hold of Christ and I don't let go. His Word on my lips creates my world. So instead of being bewildered and torn about by these waves, I'll become a wave walker. Even if I learn how to wave-walk by sinking, I will rise up and try over and over again!
Writing from peace is my weapon, and with it I destroy the powers of darkness invading my home and with it I write myself into a better world. And so it is, I am learning to rule in the midst of my enemies and to grin in the face of disaster.
I will stand, even on wobbly legs, and I will run to the battle, even if it's on an earthly substance I have no scientific basis to step on. Love always wins. On this basis, let's rise up, as warriors!
This uncommon peace is available to you, as well… the kind of peace that gives you grace and favor to rise up. It's a gift from Heaven that is delivered straight into your heart, through the power of Love from our Father in Heaven.
With all my love,
