You will speak what you believe.
You will have what you say.
A reader of the "Love from Papa" letters recently wrote to me sharing how family members and close friends had always formed judgments against them, speaking these things both behind their back and in their presence, criticizing them and causing them to withdraw and shut down.
Most of us will either choose "fight" or "flight" as our response.
What we need to know is what causes the fight or flight reactions, because that's the "one step" that will liberate the captives and turn captives into liberators! There have been many books written on this, but I'm all for keeping things simple and childlike… and I will only give you what I know has been tried and true in my own life!
This is what Papa began teaching me many years ago. He took me to one of the greatest liberators in all history to teach me: Queen Esther!
In a brief snapshot, Esther is the main character of the book of Esther in the Bible. She was a beautiful Hebrew girl living in captivity with her aunt and uncle, having been orphaned at a young age. The nation's leader was in the market for a bride, so he sent his henchmen to kidnap the most promising women in the kingdom. Esther was taken into his harem where she soaked in expensive oils and fragrances for six months so that when it was her turn to visit the king she would smell like him. What no one could know was that she was a Jew. Long story short, a conspiracy erupted in which Esther discovered that a man named Haman, very close to the king, had instigated a massacre and the king had stamped the order for the massacre with his signet ring.
The fate of every Jew was signed, sealed and delivered to the sociopath who intended to slaughter a nation.
Long story short, Esther spent three days fasting along with everyone else around her. She could not stop the massacre but she believed there must be a way to even the odds and possibly turn the tide to the Jew's favor.
She needed a NEW DECREE!
She laid her life on the line, entering the king's presence unbidden, and gracefully gained the king's favor. The conspirator shows up and attempts to silence Esther but the king's eyes were opened to the deceit and sent Haman to the very gallows he had built to slay the leader of the Jews, Esther's Uncle Mordecai. Esther was given great favor and the king asked her what he could do.
Esther and Mordecai were given carte blanche to write a new decree and the king's signet ring was stamped on the seal. This edict was quickly delivered via horsemen to every Jew in the kingdom, authorizing them to defend themselves, killing anyone who threatened them or their women and children, and confiscating for themselves anything owned by their enemies.
The very day of the planned massacre – which should have been a day of great mourning – turned into a day of great victory and celebration…. so much so that the Bible says, "Not only that, but many non-Jews became Jews – now it was dangerous NOT to be Jew!" Esther 8:17 The Message
Father's heart is that we do not bow down to intimidation, slander, or any other threats against us. His will is that we be liberated and become liberators, even becoming wealthy in the process! God is raising SPECIAL FORCES, AVENGERS, and SECRET HEROES in this hour.
Through Esther's story, Father was showing me the "one step" needed to reversing the curses, turning the tide, and turning victims into victors!
He showed me how to write my own decree and promised that He would stamp it with His signet ring! In September 2007 I wrote out my decree. Based on God's Word, the promises He had put on my heart, and prophetic words spoken by others over my life… and I began reading this document to myself every day. I recorded my decree in my own voice and began listening to it every day – it was 30-minutes long!
I began noticing changes in my life! I shared it with a friend and we began "decreeing" together every day! We both began noticing changes in our lives! Here's how it works, in a nutshell:
All the current circumstances in our lives are there because we believe them into being there. If we have low self-esteem and insecurity about who we are, if we really measure up to who we believe we should be, then people will pick up on that in the unseen spiritual realm and gossip, slander, accusations, judgments, etc will manifest.
If we have grown up believing that our dreams can only be measured by the money in our checking and savings accounts, then we live small lives, never risking or going very far in life.
If we believe we don't have enough money to ____ (you fill in the blank) then we don't. Our belief system closes doors to opportunity. It also opens doors to the very things that will drain our bank accounts dry and cause us to live as if we are drowning in debts and bills.
If we believe we aren't beautiful and the best man/woman would never want us, then we will find that only the less-than-suitable marriage candidates will appear in our lives and we will marry the wrong partners.
If we say, "I need $10,000 to move from point A to point B," that may be a fact, but it's based on our beliefs. The belief is "I need". The Truth is, "I lack nothing and I have everything I need." That's from Psalm 23.
The man who says, "I need $10,000 to ___" is operating in a belief system that is broadcasting lack. His faith door is closed to some extent to the biggest blessings and he must be content with what he is humanly able to provide or with what his faith level currently allows him to receive, which many times is below his actual means as a son of God. He may be believing God for the miraculous, but his belief system still has some lingering poverty mentality. This actually describes the majority of us!
The man who says, "I'm believing for $10,000 to ___" is operating from a belief system that is broadcasting his desire to obtain the funds that already exist and are waiting for him. His faith door is open to receive $10,000 and much more from ways and means beyond his capacity to comprehend or arrange by himself.
What we see is what we believe. What we speak is what we get.
The "one step" to reversing the curse is to simply change our beliefs. The key is the get those beliefs from our heads to our hearts, from the conscious mind to the subconscious mind. We already have a "default" belief system in our subconscious mind signed, sealed, and delivered to bring about poverty, fear, and brokenness. If you doubt that reality, read the newspapers and listen to the radio. We need a new decree signed, sealed, and delivered by the Kingdom of God – our Father who wants to help us very much! It gives Him glory when we receive His assistance.
