Bloom

Five-Minute Friday: "Bloom"

By: Susan Deborah Schiller

A 5-minute writing adventure bloggers from all over the world are doing today at "Five Minute Friday" with Lisa Jo Baker. We write for 5-minutes, no editing… and then we share! Click image below to join us!

Something is wrong with our soil. Beans sprout in a withered way. Peas won't peek their heads. Carrots are atrophed. Tomatoes are stunted, with lopsided fruit that is holey.

The previous owner may have sprayed herbicide in our garden area. Yet, with magnificent blooms and sunny faces, our sunflower family is beaming at the sun, in the very same soil!

In their race to reach the sun, they ignore the unkind, even murderous intentions of others and simply choose life.

Sunflowers are known for their ability to absorb radiation and other toxins and exchange them for healthy nutrients. They turn sorrow into joy, death into life, and mourning into dancing.

Even in winter our sunflowers stand strong, providing rich seeds to keep the birds fat and fortified in freezing weather.

My friend, if you have been living with a sociopath, there is no doubt the garden of your heart has been sprayed with the herbicide of deceit – smear campaigns, gaslighting, and psychological torture. Reach for the light anyway. Race to the Light!

Allow God to make you into a sunflower, capable of converting toxins into the best nutrients. Let the adversity give you pleasure as you face it like an eagle and use it for an updraft.

Choose life – abundant life. Be you. Live free. Tell your story! Each part of your story is like one of the highly rich seeds hidden within the bloom of your fully opened heart!

Bloom!

Choosing love today,

Sue

Sunflowers always follow the light and they use the sun as their personal compass.Maybe we should treat god the same way.Now i see why we humans sometimes live in the darkness.Because our faces are turned away from god and we are looking in all the wrong directions:money, holding on to rage etc.

You always have good insight, Laura – thanks for sharing!

It’s a good reminder to me to keep looking for every ray of Light in my life, even right this moment. The love of friends who care enough to call, right this moment…. so much Light when we turn to seek Him! Love and Light to you, Laura – may your day be filled with the joy of more discoveries!

WOW! I did not know this about sunflowers. And how I love the image. Take the toxin and turn it to good. Choose joy. Find the sun. Beautiful. Thanks for sharing these words … The Lord knew just what I needed.  Popping over from FMF with Lisa-Jo.

Blooming right where I'm planted, my friend!  Like the might oak I have sunk my roots deep in the Word and the storms and winds simply make me stronger!  Love and hugs —

I like sunflowers. Our girls went to a grade school called Sunflower, but they aren't my favorite flower.
