You are not designed to hide in the dark and hope for an escape

You are not meant to hide in the dark and hope for an escape

By: Susan Deborah Schiller

The world's system cries through the media, "There's not enough!" Whether it be money, food, or other commodities, the cry reverberates throughout the whole earth. Fathers and mothers begin checking their bank balances, thumbing through their wallets, and more often than not, they declare, "there's not enough!"

When I go outside, as I did this morning, I hear a different cry. It's the voice of the flowers, trees, and a birds. In all their colorful adornment their voices sing, "Be fruitful and multiply!" I hear the echo from the ancient Garden of Eden, the Genesis place, where God set the whole cosmos in motion by declaring to each part of creation: "Be fruitful and multiply!"

This morning, our sunflowers have opened their cheery faces to the eastern sun. Rising up to 10-feet from the ground, they tower over my head as I gaze into their sunny round heads. With stalks that are nearly 2-inches thick and large, thick green leaves, I stand in awe of what once began as a little black and white striped seed. That little seed has outdone itself!

This winter the birds will feast because each sunny face contains at least a hundred seeds, highly nutritious, good for humans, birds, and squirrels alike.

Whose voice do I listen to today? The world's system which is fueled by wars, crime, and greed? Or the echo of God's voice in the Garden, commanding, "Be fruitful and multiply!"

I can't believe in both voices at once, for they oppose each other. Whose voice has the most authority? Whose voice is true?

If I really believe God's voice is as true today as it was yesterday, and that He hasn't changed His mind… then my job today and every day is to "be fruitful and multiply".

When I first began writing this, the US government is deciding whether to enter into another war; this one in Syria. It's a war many say we cannot afford, whether we win or lose. As I write this, most of the world's billionaires are quietly withdrawing their investments in the stock market and investing overseas. As I write this, I cannot help but see that we are headed for a show down in every facet of our lives.

As surely as the sun rises, Love always wins.

Lisa Bevere, in "Lioness Arising," said, "You are not meant to hide in the dark and hope for an escape. You are meant to be an unbeatable, unconquerable, and unshakeable daughter of Zion."

As I was reading Micah 4:9-12, I sensed God saying, "Enough! You thought you had destroyed my people, but you haven't. Instead, you've prepared them!" This is what has me excited today! Restoration.

This word is for you, for anyone who believes they are "too much" – you are not too much. You have been equipped! That is the purpose of trials!

Remember the book of Esther, when Haman had used the King's signet ring to sign a decree that would initiate a mass genocide of the Jews in and surrounding the City of Suza? God intervened and He used a Jewish girl, raising her up to be a queen in a foreign land, and although the death decree could not be changed, the Jewish people were empowered to fight.

They took up their swords and reversed the curse, taking several days to scoop up all the spoils of war.

They were like lambs led to slaughter, but when the show down commenced, they became lions and ended up MORE prosperous than if the death decree had not been set in motion!

It's the Big Showdown!

Back in 2007 God began to teach me these principles, specifically, how to write a decree that would reverse the curses. My pen became a mighty sword as I gathered all of God's promises to me, wrote them down, and declared them. Since that date, back in September 2007, God has:

  • Removed an abuser from my life, one who used spiritual terrorism tactics to threaten me, subjugate me, and impoverish me.
  • Delivered me from every exploitive employer, even one who tried to enslave me – thinking she could control every aspect of my life 24-hours a day, for less than minimum wage.
  • Given me true friends and godly relationships.
  • Put me in a place where I can heal, write, and take time for self-care.
  • Helped me to write a book chronicaling this journey, through my journals, called "On the Way Home".

Each one of us, like all the Jews in the city of Suza and surrounding territories, can write our own decree, like a Healing Manifesto, and see the end of enemy occupation in our own life.

One life at a time. One healing at a time. One deliverance at a time. One family at a time. One church at a time. One school at a time. One community, one state, one nation… until the whole world is shining brightly with the Glory of God!

God wins. Let it be so in my own life. Today. Being fruitful and multiplying… it's not an option. God commands it and expects it. My job is simply to abide – to live, to rest, to simply be – in Christ.

You may not feel all that productive, as you are emerging from the broken places of your life. It's okay. Many of us are so broken we lose our careers and more. We step aside from active ministry. It's okay.

As a seedling below ground, new growth is emerging, even if it's invisible for now. And God calls it good. We must not confuse being "fruitful" with productivity, even if its signs, wonders, and miracles.

Our Father, who lives in Heaven. Your Name is Holy. Your kingdom come and Your will be done, here on earth. As it is in heaven, so be it done on earth. Give us our daily bread and the means to pay our bills and debts. Deliver us from all evil, including every debt. Forgive us of our sins and debts, even as we forgive others for what they've done to us and all they've taken from us. For Thine is the Kingdom and the Power and the Glory – forever. Amen.

A writing prompt: Act like Queen Esther. You are a queen, you know. You are the bride of Christ. Dare to imagine you are co-ruling with Christ in the heavenlies, where you are seated with Him high above all principalities and powers of the earth.

What will you decree? What beauty will you create out of chaos? Use God's promises, songs, promises, dreams – whatever fuels your faith. You can begin small, but don't be afraid to dream big. Go and make it happen!

Be you. Live free. Tell your story.

Declare and decree. . . that is what the Spirit whispered to me many moons ago and I have found it to be a powerful weapon, as you have.  The universe responds to the commands of the warriors of God.  We have only to believe and receive!  Hallelujah!

What a powerful message, Susan. When we look around us God has showered us with so many opportunities to be fruitful and multiply. He has surrounded us with so many beautiful reminders and examples. There is no reason to get hung up on all the doom and gloom. Yes, we must be educated as to what is going on in the world around us so we can seek God's wisdom of how we can contribute to the furtherance of His Kingdom. Praise the Lord!

Susan

WoW! I am with you! We must rely on God for everything.  He is our defender and our source.  There's so much craziness happening right now in the world, it's almost unbelievable.  We can invest in our lives, families, and communities.  I love the reminder to simply abide.  I can get so easily discouraged by what's happening in the world. But you remind me of John 14.27

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

Thanks for sharing your heart and also that verse from John 14, Marvia… I, too, needed to be reminded of His peace! It can be very overwhelming, most days… You feel like a sister to me, Marvia… I truly cherish your heart and your life πŸ™‚

Sharon, as I read this (or any of your writing) I imagine you standing in front of a large audience, and people are mesmerized by your words.  You speak (write) so beautifully.  I can feel your emotions, I can see you images, and it's glorious.

No matter how negative the media is about the financial situation in this country, I never took it to heart.  I've always had enough, and I know that I will always have enough.  Now that I'm in a much happier place, I know that my life will only become so much more.

Thank you for your kind words.

Thank you for sharing your vision – and the encouraging words – a million thanks πŸ™‚

I love to read your writing Susan. It is so poetic. Really beautiful sentiments expressed in such beautiful fashion. Is this an extract from a book?
Yes, I do believe that God will win, because it all belongs to him, and we are not being very good stewards of what he has entrusted to us.

Thanks for sharing.
